Two-factor authentication

Short Definition
Definition

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an additional layer of security that can be used to protect your online accounts. When 2FA is enabled, you will be prompted to enter an additional code after entering your username and password. This code can be generated by an app on your smartphone or delivered to you via text message. 2FA helps to ensure that even if someone manages to steal your password, they will not be able to access your account without also having your phone or access to the code. 2FA is becoming increasingly common, as online security threats continue to grow. Many major websites and online services now offer 2FA, including Google, Facebook, Amazon, and Dropbox. Enabling 2FA is generally a good idea for any online account that contains sensitive information or that you use regularly. However, it is important to keep in mind that 2FA is not foolproof. If someone has access to your phone or email account, they may still be able to bypass 2FA and gain access to your account. If you are concerned about the security of your online accounts, consider enabling Two-factor authentication today.
