The "Whole Self" in relation to a social media persona refers to the comprehensive and integrated view of an individual that encompasses multiple layers of their identity and life experiences. This concept is derived from the BioPsychoSocial-Spiritual Cultural framework, which provides a holistic approach to understanding the various factors that contribute to a person's well-being. When applied to social media, the Whole Self approach recognizes that a person's online presence and interactions are influenced by, and can impact, their biological, psychological, social, spiritual, and cultural dimensions.

The Biological Self - Body  

The Biological Self is comprised of the basic funcTIons that can impact daily  funcTIoning like sleeping, eating, energy, and somatic experiences.  

The Psychological Self - Mind  

The Psychological Self revolves around things pertaining to cognition, including  working memory, information retrieval, problem-solving, aIenEon, and overall  thinking patterns.  

The Social Self - External  

The Social Self covers the area of life that relate to the various relationships. one  may have including family, friends, lovers, strangers, community, and society.   

 

The Spiritual Self - Internal  

The Spiritual Self deals with the essence of life, what many would call the source  of being alive. This can refer to faith-based belief systems, religions, or any other  practices intended for self-improvement, self-fulfillment, purpose, or  enlightenment.  

The Cultural Self - Identify  

The Cultural Self encompasses things that relate to how one identifies to the  world and in the world, as well as the values and beliefs one holds, including the  origin of those values and beliefs.
